One of the largest gift basket business forums requires a paid membership but there are a few other reasonably active message boards that you can read to pick up some tips and to find suppliers. Through forum participation you will also be able to find out about industry conferences that are held from time to time that offer workshops and networking opportunities.

There are also a number of gift basket business guides and startup kits sold online that have been written by successful market players. These industry insiders share there experiences and offer insights and advice on all aspects of the industry. These guides can be downloaded instantly and often include other useful resources that you can adapt for use with your own business.

Offline Resources

There is a fairly good range of titles relating to the business available online through Amazon.com and other online book sellers.

There are also number of gift basket business associations that offer paid memberships but it is hard to be sure how credible they are. Some of them have tried to implement certification and quality standards but none have managed to make any impact on the industry. Members just end up paying to be associated with an association that nobody recognizes anyway and they get little else in return for their fees. It is uncertain as to whether these associations are able to offer useful advice to those starting out.

There was a 'gift basket magazine' available several years ago called 'Gift Basket Review' but it is no longer in print. Although the industry is reasonably large in North America it seems unable to offer enough regular readers for any kind of regular magazine.
